FAQs

Q: What is Youth With A Mission (YWAM)?
Youth With A Mission is an international missions movement of Christians dedicated to sharing the gospel throughout the world. Also known as YWAM, (pronounced “why-wam”), our calling is to know God and to make Him known. For more info on YWAM International, go to ywam.org or uofnkona.edu.

Q: Is YWAM Northwoods affiliated with the International House of Prayer in Kansas City (IHOP–KC)?
No, we are not officially affiliated, yet we do hold to many similar beliefs and values. At the turn of the century, Loren Cunningham and Mike Bickle came together in an effort to marry the missions movement with prayer and worship movement. Since then, we have helped establish a House of Prayer in the nearby town of Chetek, WI. Also, we have had many speakers and worship teams from IHOP Kansas City come to minister both here and in the local churches.

Q: What countries do you primarily go to?
While we are always open and searching the globe for fruitful opportunities, YWAM Northwoods has sent multiple teams to Thailand, Mexico, Morocco, Brazil.

Q: Can families join YWAM?
Yes, families are welcomed and celebrated. We are a very family-friendly campus and believe that our property and grounds are very conducive for families with children of all ages.

Q: Do you send out teams to minister in churches or youth groups?
Yes, we’d be glad to. Please call 715-353-2280 to schedule one of our mobile teams to come to your area.

Q: Can we rent out your facilities for church retreats or gatherings?
Yes, we are here to serve you. We often host singles, couples, families, church groups, or youth groups. We can be as involved as you want us to be. We also encourage you to come and take advantage of the peace and solitude we have to offer here. If you are interested in more information, feel free to email hospitality@ywamnorthwoods.org.

Q: Are there long-term staff roles available on your campus?
Yes, we believe that our campus has tons of potential for growth and sending out. We are desiring to see an army of joyful, fiery volunteers trained and sent out from this place. So come and join us to build this campus as well as sow into the local community and the world.

Q: Are there opportunities for anyone, even if they have not done a DTS?
Yes, there are many ways for you to get involved. Whether it’s partnering with us financially, becoming a mission builder, or just visiting our campus for special events, we invite you to join us.
