"Fulfilling the Great Commission by mobilizing believers to reach the unreached."
Our Vision
Unreached Become Reached
Here at YWAM Northwoods we are working with an unreached Thai Buddhist group that had never heard the gospel until our DTS team brought it to them last year. At the end of the outreach we were privileged to pray with a person who had a disease similar to leprosy. Within three months she was healed and she credited her healing to the prayers that were prayed in Jesus name. Of course this caused a hunger within the community to hear more about Jesus and the Bible, so this year when the team came they received us with excitement and gave their children to us to teach them Bible memorization and English.
One woman had received a New Testament and had a dream that she was being chased by evil. She ran into Jesus arms for protection. The next morning she spoke out in a meeting that she belonged to Jesus. Two other adults and about twelve children made decisions in this village where they knew that their conversion could result in rejection from their families. Come help us reach the unreached.
It is now our goal to see a long term work planted in this area within the next three years by sending more teams to build on what God has started. "Fulfilling the Great Commission by mobilizing believers to reach the unreached."
By "fulfilling", we mean that we are attempting to do our part in this on going process.
By "the Great Commission" we mean Christ's mandate in Matthew 8:19-20 to "go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you..." (NASB)
By "mobilizing" we mean the full range of activities implied: Namely, to educate, recruit, promote, assemble, train, send, sustain, shepherd, etc.
By "believers" we mean those who have trusted Christ as their Savior and Lord.
By "reach" we mean to go to, evangelize, and disciple.
By "unreached" we mean those areas or ethnic groups that are currently less than 5% Christian. We are also committed to facilitating the healing, restoring and empowering work of God in the lives of individuals and families; to impart destiny, vision and blessing.
